Kids Area

Hi! All you beautiful kids joining us at this year’s Solfest!

Here’s a little peep into your own special area.

The Kids Area is a special place right at the heart of Solfest and it’s all for you! Solfest is not just about the music; it’s about spending time with family and friends, making new friends, having great new experiences and making the most special memories!

We offer a small village of activities within Solfest and we believe in quality entertainment to suit all of you. Your area has grown every year from 2003, it has kept 100’s of children and parents entertained over the last 14 years. We don’t have stuff for sale in our area, or put empty shows on that you’ll forget in a flash. Instead we offer a kids area that gives you the opportunity to create things to take home, learn new crafts, take part in theatre sessions, dance offs, tug of war, parties, games, storytelling and face paints! This year we have a sensory garden for you little ones.

We have lots of great stuff for you teenagers as well.

For parents with under 4’s, we also have The Baby Chill Out Tent, which provides a buggy park under cover, baby changing facilities and somewhere for parents and little ones to relax and play.

I could talk about your area all day, but I would just like to say, I hope you all have a fantastic time this year and take home the very best of memories.

REMEMBER! The adults at the festival can also relax without having to dig into their wallets because nearly everything in the Kids Area is FREE of charge.

SEE YOU ON THE FIELD

Look out for a lovely little red and yellow big top. The fantastic Astral Circus will be performing their show for all ages – kids, grown – ups and Peter Pans. Go along early if you want a seat. You’re sure to enjoy the fun and games in here. Other workshops will be held in the little big top.

Trailer Trash will be joining us again this year at Solfest. This is the amazing youth club for teenagers which provides pool, table football and somewhere for teens to hang out! We cannot wait to welcome Trailer Trash back for 2018.

Mini me Yoga is here to bring joy and happiness into children’s lives by simple and exciting yoga games and mindfulness activities.

BCOT is a haven for babies, toddlers and weary parents. The little people can crawl and play around on a dry carpeted area, with lots of toys and equipment, while weary parents can refuel with a brew on a comfy couch. There’s a quiet area for feeding and a nappy changing area.

(This area is designed to to give you and your small children a break together – very important if the weather isn’t great! There will be two volunteers in the tent to make you a cuppa, or just chat with you and your children. HOWEVER they are not there to babysit! You have to stay with the children)

This year in the Kids’ Area, we welcome Abi with her face paints. Abi is ready to transform you into just what you fancy – from a fairy to Batman to a wild tiger! Abi will be hanging around in the kids area all weekend, so look out for the face paints signs!

There is music and singing, squelching and slurping and the occasional monster to defeat. These stories come from a tradition of telling stories we have had for thousands of years all over

Taffy Thomas joins us for some fab story telling at Solfest 2018. Get ready folks for some magical tales and let Taffy get your imagination running wild. Taffy has a repertoire of more than 300 stories, collected mainly from traditional oral sources, which he is happy to tell in almost any situation.
